Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and SoriStory LLC (“Washi,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of the Washi apps — Washidoc and Washipad — and the washidoc.com and washipad.com websites (together, the “Service”). By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. License to use the apps

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the apps on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell, or attempt to extract the source code of the apps, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.

2. Accounts

Some features require an account, created with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Apple ID secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to create an account.

3. Subscriptions, free trials & billing

The Service offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks premium features (which may include cloud backup/sync and AI tools). Subscriptions are sold as auto-renewable in-app purchases through the App Store, and the following apply:

• Free trial. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
• Managing & canceling. You manage and cancel your subscription in your device Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple; refund requests are subject to Apple’s policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.
• Price changes. We may change subscription prices; changes apply to future billing periods and, where required, only after notice and/or your consent.

Features available without a subscription remain free to use. We may change which features are free vs. Pro over time.

4. Your content

You keep all ownership of the documents, notes, text, and images you create or import (“Your Content”). We don’t claim ownership of it. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the Service for you — for example, to store, back up, sync, and display Your Content on your devices when you enable those features, and, when you use an AI feature, to transmit the relevant content to our AI provider to generate your result. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to use it.

5. AI features

Washidoc’s AI features generate output using a third-party AI provider. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it, and it is not legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to: break the law or infringe others’ rights; upload or process content you don’t have the right to use; attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems; or misuse AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, or abusive content.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service, including the apps, websites, the “Washi,” “Washidoc,” and “Washipad” names, logos, and design, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL NOT BE LOST. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING YOUR OWN BACKUPS OF IMPORTANT CONTENT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DON’T ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in-app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive termination.

11. Apple App Store terms

These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the apps or their content. To the extent there is any maintenance or support, we — not Apple — are responsible for it, and Apple has no obligation to furnish it. In the event of a failure of an app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the apps, including product liability, legal/regulatory compliance, and consumer-protection claims, and any third-party claim that an app or your use of it infringes intellectual-property rights. You must comply with applicable third-party terms and the App Store Usage Rules. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local consumer-protection laws apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer where you live.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide more prominent notice. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
